I covered the surrounding area with plastic sheeting and tape, and trial fit the windshield. I'd bought the LP Aero trimmed windshield from Avipro and was pleasantly surprised to see that minimal trimming was needed. Basically, some beveling on the bottom side of the windshield at the corners of the change from the front to the sides brought the wing roots in line with the windshield and allowed an adequate center-edge for the windshield post.
