I took the straps I'd previously made and drilled out spar rivets and reamed out to 3/16 inch for the straps to be bolted to. The front spar rivets have to be drilled out from the shop head, which can be a little tricky to remain centered. Using two bottom straps and one top strap, I achieved what appeared to be a fit, and primed and painted the straps and glued the one inch rubber straps onto the 3/4 inch straps. The tank fits very closely to the ribs, and the only way I could think to attach fuel lines without huge holes was to use brass nipples to get the fuel into the next bay, where a coupling and AN-pipe adapter can be used to hook up the fuel lines. I used a rivet strap duplicator to scuff the paint in order to figure out where to put the holes in the rib. The aux tank went in and out about a dozen times. Each time the tank tends to end up in a slightly different position. Because of that, next time, I'm not cutting out the fuel filler neck until everything is already done.
