Brief Description:  Wing Root Fuel Tubing

I wasn't thrilled with the concept of using hose clamps and rubber fuel hose in the wing roots, and spent some time pondering how to use standard AN tubing. I used the tools in Image 1 to help figure out the geometry. I cut off the straight and 90 deg flare fitting from a bulkhead and bent a 90 deg tube with a standard 3/8 inch tubing bender with the sleeve and nut mounted at the minimum length possible to get the nut to fit on a tubing bender. The mylar template and the transfer punch were used to help locate the proper position of the bulkhead fittings on the root rib. I ended up using a straight bulkhead union on the aft lines and a 90 deg bulkhead union on the front tubing. I was able to flare the aft tubes, but only cut the forward tubes as there wasn't enough room to get the flaring tool in there with the wings on.
