Brief Description: Firewall Plumbing 1
|
|
I drilled holes in the firewall and provisionally mounted a number of items, including the oil filter, small and large electrical wiring penetrations, ground penetration, brake and primer bulkhead unions, electrical ignition coils, and the fuel pressure and primer manifold. I then measured the hose lengths for brake master cylinder, fuel, oil cooler and filter, primer and manifold pressure hoses and fabricated the master cylinder to the firewall union tube. Originally, I was going to use custom teflon hoses, but given the uncertainties in length inherent in an initial installation, I could see that any mistakes in length would be very expensive. Using Aeroquip 303 hose, 471 fittings and firesleeve, the cheapest option available, the cost is still almost $400 for all the hoses.
