Brief Description:  Panel 1

I had the panel cut by waterjet for the hefty sum of $45. I did the planning on DesignCAD, and converted the output to AutoCAD version 14. I decided to go with a pair of Advanced Flight Systems AF-3400 EFIS panels, as well as a GMA-340 audio panel, GNS-480 GPS/NAV/COM, and a GTX-327 transponder. Still remaining to fill out the panel are a TruTrak Sorcerer autopilot and a MD-200-306 indicator, but that will have to wait for some more money. I mounted the avionics racks to the panel with the Radiorax system, which worked really well. The Radiorax system should allow the radios to be supported without a strap, but the Avipro panel is only .040 inches thick, so I'll probably need to add some additional support. I made switch backing panels of .063 with cutouts for the switch keyway washers - they provide additional stiffening of the panel and lock the switches, preventing them from rotating.
