Brief Description:  Engine Cowl 4

Bungee cords and straps were used to hold the doors in place, and Southco flush fasteners were installed after predrilling, in addition to all of the nutplates on the nosebowl and firewall. It turns out a #10 dimple works out pretty well for a Southco flush fastener. I made a receptacle jig to aid in placing the Southco receptacles, as the standard nutplate jigs don't fit. The fore and aft edges were bent and shrunk to get a "skin tight" fit. Blue tape was put around the nosebowl where I wanted the skin to end, and I used a caliper to scribe one inch from the tape edge so the door skins could be trimmed to fit. I ended up using a dimpled 8-32 machine flush head screw into a monadnack clip nut at the front corner in order to keep the door skin flush against the underlying structure.
