I fabricated a strap which goes between two existing firewall attach points, and it incorporates two brackets which will function as hangers for the exhasut and also provide support for the cowl flap torque tube. I will need to provide additional support tabs behind the firewall after I remove the engine for fabric covering. On good thing is that the forces on the cowl flap and exhaust will oppose each other. Also, the 6 inch Robbins carb heat muff was resting on the cowl. I shortened it 1 inch, which brought it about 3/8 of an inch from the cowl, which still might not be enough.
