Brief Description:  Stringer Length Restore

I saved about $110 by not having the stringers shipped by freight; the down side was that they were cut at the 9 foot mark so as to be shipped by FedEx. Unfortunately, 5 out of the 8 stringers have to be longer than 9 foot. So, I had to have a way to restore them to length. I ended up cutting 5 each strips of .040 aluminum, and sandwiching the aluminum, after anodizing into the center of the stringer. The two ends were joined over this aluminum, and riveted into place using 4 each -3 round head rivets, which seems to make a pretty strong union. The inside of the stringers were anodized as well. Four out of eight have been trimmed to fit at this point. If I had to do it over again, I'd pay the $110 - this took hours and added weight.
