Brief Description:  Condition Inspection

I completed the annual condition inspection after 143 hours of flight time over the past year. I replaced all the relevant consumables, serviced all the lube points, bearings and what-not, and carried out the prescribed inspections. The only discrepancies that I found were a few modestly leaking fuel fittings in the wings and some cable wear on the struts. I tightened the fittings after installing Del-fitting seals and adhesed phenolic strips to the struts at the wear points. Engine compressions were 77 to79 over 80 psi. Additionally, I replaced the o'rings in the Essex fuel primer with As568a-012 Viton(R) fluoroelastomer units from McMasters and lubed them with SealLube, which made the primer much easier to use. I also put terminals on the ground coaxial leads in the Aeroflash wingtip lights so as to avoid potential intermittent connections, and secured them to the mounting screws. (Aeroflash has the coaxial leads being pinched between the housing and the base plate as the ground connection).
