The Summit Racing fuel cell isn't sturdy enough to withstand acceleration/deceleration loads only bolted to its mounting brackets. Accordingly, I fabricated sturdy mounting straps using strapping material, buckles and mounting eyelets from strapworks.com. I used polyester thread and my trusty '50s Singer to sew them up. I incorporated a patch of naugahyde under the buckles so as to protect the aluminum from the buckles. Small 18 lb tie-wraps secure the loose strap ends. A hot strap/rope cutter was used to trim the ends of the strap.
