Brief Description:  Windshield Install

I placed self-adhesive 1/16 inch thick x 1/2 inch neoprene tape on the bottom surface and felt tape supplied by LP Aero with the windshield on the upper surface. I centered the windshield on the U-channel on the roof, and pushed the windshield as far aft as it would go. I then applied 1/16 inch x 1/4 inch self-adhesive tape on the inner side frames and 1/8 inch x 1/14 neoprene self-adhesive tape on the inner surface on the lower windshield fiberglass fairing, and installed the side frames and lower windshield fairing. Because the neoprene needs to compress, installation required working from the center of the lower fairing towards the rear to get the screws to fit into the already installed rivnuts. Finally, using 2 inch wide 3M tarp repair tape to protect the fabric and windshield from silicone, I RTV'd the upper portion of the U-channel and let it set overnight. I took care to leave the side frame screws 1/4 turn loose from snug to allow the plexiglass to move with thermal expansion and contraction.
