Brief Description:  Wing Riveting 1

Kelley Babin came down from Tulsa, and he and I riveted both wings. It took 12 hours for the 1st wing and 8 hours for the second wing. A few dings, nothing serious. Three Cherry-Max's were used where the rivets conflicted with a fuel vent line. Many rivets have to bucked blind (for some reason, I'm better bucking blind than when I can see). I was only able to get my left hand in the aft lightening holes, as my right hand was too large to fit, but by trying some contortioning, I was able to get the bucking done. We did everything but the trailing edges and root and outboard ribs where they can be squeezed. The Avery Tools P/N 6005 tungsten bucking bar came in quite handy. We found back riveting the main and aux fuel tank bay, though possible, was slower and ended up with more banana rivets than standard riveting. Also, a rotisserie is a good thing.
