Today I removed all the powder coat from the mounting surfaces of the aileron and flap hinges and bell cranks. The powder coat is tough stuff. It takes a lot of work to remove it. I then drilled all the rivet holes to mount the parts. 80 pilot holes, 80 holes drilled out with a #30 bit. 80 holes to de-burr, both sides. I have to drill out the bushing holes on the bell cranks but I’m going to wait until I can use a drill press. I want those holes to be perfectly straight so the control surfaces move freely.
