I started working on the metal leading edge wrap today. This is an option supplied by the factory without instructions. I’ve done some research on how to install it but I called the factory just to make sure I was doing it correctly. I spoke to Jak. He told me there are written instruction that should have been delivered with the kit then proceeded to explain how to do it. It was pretty much as I expected but he game me some tips that should make it easier.
I installed the spar for the false ribs. The aluminum tubing fits into openings predrilled in the rib webs. I trimmed the tubing to fit and used adhesive to attach it to the ribs. The openings in the rib webs are oversized and it is important that the tubing fit into the bottom of the opening at each station. I used string to clamp the tubing in place while the adhesive cures, tying it in place at each rib.
