I cut and fitted the boot cowls some time ago. The assembly manual has this area covered with fabric but I used aluminum so I could remove it and get access to the back of the instrument panel for maintence. When I made these, I wasn’t sure how I was going to form the bottom of the aluminum to match the round tube of the fuselage. I ended up getting some ½ inch bar stock and clamped it over the end of the aluminum panel. Then I bent up the bottom of the aluminum until I got an acceptable shape. It came out OK. They still need to be trimmed up a bit but I'll wait until I fit the cowling.
