Brief Description:  Finished Engine Installation

I spent quite a bit of time finishing up the engine installation. I strained relived all wires and hoses. I used torque seal on the vital connections. It’s surprising how long all that took. I also installed a vent the rocker arm cover. This is a mod recommended by the engine manufacturer. The engine comes with a vent on the oil tank. The new mod involves drilling a hole in the rocker arm cover. Tapping the hole and installing a 1/8in NPT X ¼ in hose elbow. I ran the hose to a T with the oil tank vent and connected it to an oil separator/reservoir mounted on the firewall. Normally the hose just vents out the bottom of the cowling. I adapted a small water separator for an air compressor to catch any oil and keep it from staining the belly of the plane. It will be interesting to see if any oil comes out of the engine.
