I used body filler on all the modifications to the cowling. Since the fiberglass layups I made had no gelcoat I needed to both fill in the weave on the fabric and smooth the transition between the modifications and the surface of the cowlings. I sanded all the body filler until it was smooth. I also sanded the gelcoat on the cowlings in preparation for painting. The only thing left to do is install the Camloc fasteners on the top cowl. I bought Camlocs but they are the wrong size. I’ll install them as soon as I exchange the fasteners for the correct size. The cowling is finally done!
