I re-mounted the engine to the airframe using new AN hardware. I spent a great deal of time trying to figure out why the cowling wouldn’t fit. I had many conversations with the engine factory talking about the need for prop spacers (they supplied two different spacers with the engine) and other stratagies for making the cowling fit. It turns out that Viking changed the engine mount. The engine is about two inches further away from the firewall for added strength. However the company did not change the cowling so the cowling supplied with the engine is about two inches too short. Viking made good on it and will send a new cowling.
