Over the last several days I’ve been doing the body filler on the wings. I used as little of possible to fill the gaps between the fuel tanks and the tops of the #1 & 2 ribs as well as to smooth the transition between the leading edge of the wing and the front of the fuel tank. I also use filler to smooth the transition between spar and the front lift strut bracket and fabric plate. I used minimal filler, just enough (I think) to make the fabric lay smoothly. I did not try to cover all the rivet heads on the strut bracket as shown as an option in the build manual. I thought the added weight of that much filler was not worth the esthetic value of hiding the rivet heads. Apparently there is no aerodynamic advantage to covering the rivet heads. It took a long time to complete this task. It was my first time using bodyfiller and I found it very difficult to work with .
