Well, despite operating contrary to the Van's instructions, I went ahead and pro-sealed/riveted the tank support bracket and reinforcement plate on the left tank wing root. I believe things will work out okay as I let the pro-seal set up for a day before riveting, and I also cleco'd the rib into place within the tank to allow the pro-seal to set up in the final hole pattern.
Previous reports warned that if you rivet and seal prior to installing in the wing, the pro-seal would set up and cause a misalignment, and possible tank deformation. I have read other reports that are contrary. Van's instructions just say that if you do it in this order, bucking the leading edge rivets will be impossible. Since I plan to install pulled rivets in those four or five spots, I don't believe this will be a problem. Got my fingers crossed anyways. ;-)
