Brief Description: Fitting of leading edge transition strip
Using the wing cradle, I bent the transition strip to form prior to attempting installation on the wing. I can't say this helped much, but it was in the instructions. I then marked off a line .5 inches the length of the strip to allow for alignment.
Once I actually tried to do this, I quickly realised that the end-ribs, 4881-1-L/R were not fluted correctly. The whole ribe was warped through the process of fluting, and then straightening, and then fluting again to make provisions for the hole locations. That's what I get for fluting before taking the time to mark the hole locations first. In response, I threw the two ribs away and have ordered new ones from Van's.
Will continue this process when I get the new ribs in next week.
