Goal this evening was to build the top of the Rudder, install the Counter-Weight, and rivet together. The only complication was fitting the lead piece inside the rib. Ended up having to grind notches for the rivet heads using the Scotch-Brite wheel. I decided to rivet this assembly to the main Rudder Spar, which does make it somewha awkward, but I don't like tabling things for later.
In riveting this piece to the Spar, I did scratch up the spar-web near the top, so I touched up with the Zinc-Chromate primer which I bought at Oshkosh. Turns out this stuff is getting hard to find, so the good deals are gone. Last year I paid $7/can, but this year $10.
