Brief Description:  Fuel Sender Mouning in Tank Baffle

Kind of a short day at the airport, but at least I finished up the fuel sender mounting. I ordered some #8 sealing washers last week, so along with the hex head #8 fasteners that made for a good seal around the fuel sender. Of course, a generous coating of pro-seal should do the trick. As others have suggested, I did not install the rubber gasket under the sender unit. Just pro-seal.

After everything was installed, I measured the resistance between the center-post of the fuel sender and ground. Range was approx 33 ohms-247 ohms. That checks with chart. Theoretically I should not need a return wire to one of the lugs, although I might end up doing that if I later have a problem. With all of the fuel flow devices and EMS calculations for fuel, I'm starting to wonder if analog fuel gauges are a thing of the past? I normally top off my tanks, which will allow me to reset the EMS each time.

I also installed the float device. Range of motion is pretty good. It comes close to the top and the bottom, although not exactly. My main concern is whether or not it will clear the stiffener. Tomorrow I will install the baffle and make sure there's enough clearance. Might be hard to see though as the ribs are installed already.
