Brief Description:  Tiedown Assembly

Spent about 4 hours this afternoon fabricating the Winge Tiedown Assemblies. Heading back to the hangar this afternoon to correct a goof-up. After carefully drilling the lightening holes, mounting, clamping, etc., when it came time to rivet the spacers I did so upside down!! Ugh!!

Believe I can salvage the spacers, but probably not the platenuts. Not to mention that I need more aluminum bar-stock since it took me several tries to drill and cut the spacers correctly. I learned a lot about securing my work to the drill press table and also to give the pilot drill some metal to guide on. I made the mistake of starting the job with the unibit, and then finishing up with a 1" hole saw. Without metal in the middle for the hole saw to guide on the hole turned out oblong. Oh well, part of my education, right? :-)
