Brief Description:  Bent Rudder Leading Edge

Spent way too much time today figuring out how to bend the rudder leading edge by myself. Ended up using a solution I found on VansAirForce using the brackets seen in the pics. In the end I had to cut these almost in half to allow room for the edge of the rudder to clear the bracket during the roll.

I do recommend this procedure. I worked great once I cut the u-bolts in half and positioned the rudder and pipe in line with tape holding everything. I also drilled holes in the end of the pipe to allow for the use of a screwdriver to help roll the bar.

BTW, trying to cut the pipe to size was a bear. Ended up using a Dremmel tool with the Lock-Cutting kit. Sliced right thru the pipe wheras a die-grinder with a steel cutting disk just scratched the surface. Must be a better way to do this. The hack saw worked on one cut, but requires way too much effort!
