Brief Description:  Assemble Right Wing

Finished deburring and dimpling the leading edge skin.

I also bought some 1 1/2" PVC pipe and nailed some 2X4s to a 2X8 in an attempt to roll out the LE skin dent. Got everything set up to press the skin into the 2x's with the pipe but stopped. I wasn't sure that it would line up with the bend and that I'd make it worse so I simply laid the pipe into the bend and pounded on it with the hammer. It worked fairly well and it smoothed the dent quite a bit. It's still noticeable but not nearly as bad. $7.00 for a ten foot piece of pipe vs. a new $110 skin........ a Scout is Thrifty.

We'll see how it looks when the rivets are set.

One last check of the wiring and plumbing before riveting the LE skin. With everything in place I clecoed the lower side first so that I could locate and istall the pitot tube. I needed Karole to go underneath the wing and align the ribs for clecoing. I'm using the Aircraft Spruce $25 model rather than fabricating my own according to the plans.

I didn't have a hole saw or unibit big enough for the base plate of the tube, so I used the unibit to make the initial hole and then used my small 3M wheel in my grinder to open it up to fit the base of the tube. Installed the nutplates into the skin for the external cover plate, cleaned and deburred, mounted it and connected the tubing.

Finished late into the night. Will have to finish it next weekend.
