Brief Description:  Right Wing Assembly

Finished fabrication of the root ribs and riveted them to the main spar. With the direction of the rivets in the root rib flange as well as the attach bolts and the reduced space to between the root and rib #1, it's really tight quarters. I was able to drill all of the pilot holes in the aft spar attach angle using my right angle drill attachment. The main spar attach angle was a different story. I managed to get about five holes drilled and clecoed. A couple more drilled but there simply wasn't room to get a cleco in from either side.

So, I removed the six bolts in the attach angle, took it out, finished drilling the holes, updrilled, deburred, reassembled and riveted it. Then reassemble. Same for the nose rib as well. Once it was back on the main spar then the aft spar attach angle was riveted. I was able to do this part on the wing since the rivets faced outboard. Re-torqued all of the attach angle bolts then DONE!

I did learn another important lesson on torquing bolts. Don't use a foot-pound torque wrench when you are supposed to use inch-pounds. I grabbed the wrong wrench, and 25 foot-pounds will snap an AN 3-10 bolt like a twig. PAY ATTENTION!

After that, I verified that the wing was still square and level and got ready for some wing skinning tomorrow.
