Brief Description:  Fabricate aft wing ribs

I finished up-drilling, deburring and riveting all of the gussets to the aft wing ribs. These only go on the four inboard ribs on each wing. I actually got Ashley to stop and help with a couple of clecos. Little miss Southern Belle is not interested in getting her hands dirty to help. I may have to make it one of her chores for awhile.

Began fabricating the spar web spacers that some of the ribs require to mount to the spar. There are 10 spacers made from 1/8" thick stock and 8 spacer made from .032" sheet. Sounds simple enough. Rip cut the sheet pieces to 1/2" width then crosscut them and the 1/8" bar stock to length. All on the bandsaw. Well........ it took forever on my Delta 14" bandsaw. I used Boelube to lube the blade for each cut and it still overheats and doesn't want to cut. Even popped the blade off the wheels once by pushing to hard. I might need to investigate using a different blade and try to improve the results.

Anyway, after a few messed up rip cuts, I finally got it cutting fairly straight and consistent, but it left a lot of work to do to clean them up. But the Scotchbrite wheel on the grinder makes that takes as easy as possible, but it did take a while. The final result was some beautiful pieces of aluminum that are going to be completely covered up during wing assembly.
