Finished assembly of the VS main spar. This part made me reevaluate my decision not to prime the parts. With one thin piece of channel sandwiched between two thick pieces all I could think about was moisture accumulating and corroding that thin channel. So I used what I had on hand which was Mar-hyde self-etching primer. I used the same stuff on the fiberglass tips and really liked the way it covered those. This was just as easy.
I set up my "redneck paintbooth" in the backyard to spray the parts. This paint goes on easy and dries fast and smooth. A couple of light coats is all. I'm now regretting not priming the HS, but it wasn't nearly as complex with so many places for moisture to build as this one piece.
The "redneck paintbooth". Some safety wire to hang each part on the dog run.
