Brief Description:  Moving Day; Return to Alabama

Moving day! Spent the morning finishing the loading of the U-Haul truck with plans to pull the trailer with it but I couldn't use the hitch on the truck to attach the trailer. U-Haul is closed so Karole was not happy that she has to pull the trailer with her Explorer. She's never pulled a trailer in her life, much less one with such expensive cargo on the back. We did a couple laps around the block for her to get comfortable with it and me giving her as many tips as possible.

I also made a modification to the trailer gate to prevent the damage I had from the first move. I cut up some steel hanger L bracket and attached with some pins to allow the gate to "lean" backwards out of the way. Turned out it worked great.

Got lots of strange looks and some thumbs up on the drive back to Alabma. One near disaster though happened in the U-Haul. My drill press fell over at some point during the drive missing the wing rack by mere inches. The press was damaged but no airplane parts were harmed. The thought of the possible damage that press would have done to the wings made me a bit sick at my stomach.

Anyway, move complete. No damage. Long nerve-racking day finished.
