Done much more research and shopping and have changed directions on the panel layout. I've settled on going with the MGL Xtreme as the PFD/EMS and the Mircroiar comm and transponder. I will initially only install one Xtreme to save some money but cut the panel and add a hole blank until I can afford the second Xtreme. The Mircoair comm and xpdr are very lightweight and have been used with the MGL line very successfully. Both components are less than one pound and require no additional supports to mount in the panel.
I'll probably do some more tweaking on exact locations, but I think this is the package I'm going with. Now, where's my checkbook?
