Brief Description:  Coating the Exhaust and Intake

Removed the exhaust pipes and cleaned them along with the intake pipes. I used a ceramic spray on coating on both. This coating requires that after painting the parts be heated to 500 degrees to cure and harden. Used the kitchen oven to cure them. They are still a bit soft, but after the first engine start they ought to completely cure and be rock hard.

I painted the intake pipes as well with the intent of keeping the air charge as cool as possible to improve performance. It's a low cost, low weight solution. It may have only limited effect, but certainly has to be better than bare steel soaking up heat. I learned this from tuning my Ford Mustang and the difference in the engine compartment with and without coated headers was vastly improved. So maybe this will keep the in-cowling heat down some.
