The things that you think will be simple and quick turn out to be complex and slow. The engine mount turned out to be one of those items. This took the whole day and I ran into the same problem many builders have with the lower bolts which will require some shorter bolts and low profiles nuts.
Most of the day was spent trimming the lower fuselage mounts to clear the landing gear legs. I went very slowly so that I didn't take off too much material. Once I got that right it was on to the shims at each corner. There is a minimum thickness required by the plans and only the two top mounts required more. Getting the alignment correct and the distance from the firewall was very difficult as well. But I finally got it plumb up front and off about 1/8" in distance from the firewall. Just could not get it any closer than that.
