Brief Description: Worked on Fuel Tank access plates.
I worked on the required modifications of the two most inboard tank ribs (left and right tanks). I am installing the inverted fuel system flop tube in the left hand tank and the standard fuel pickup in the right one. I used a fly cutter to cut the large access hole for both tanks then used a Uni-Bit to drill the 7/16" holes for the vent lines. Next was to clamp (I don't have 5/32" cleco's so I just used some of the access plate screws and some nylon lock nuts on the back to protect the threads) the T-708 (for the standard pickup) and theT-411 plate( for the tank with the flop tube) to their respective ribs and match drilled the screw holes to #19. Then I used the T-407 rings to back drill all the nut plate rivet holes. I deburred all the holes, rings, and access plates. Finishing up for the day I measured and marked some 0.020" and 0.030" scrap for the trap door, vent clips and anti-hang up bracket. I will bring them into work tomorrow and use the shear to cut them out.
