Mr. Wayne Grimes from the MD-RA was over today to carry out a pre-cover inspection of my wings, flaps and ailerons. There were two blind rivets in each flap near the trailing edge that appeared to be shorter than nominal and I am required to confirm these are the correct rivets as per Van's plans. I will take a picture of them and check with Van's for advice as they are the correct ones called out in the plans. There were also 3 rivets that had smiles on them on the wings, but it was left up to me to decide if I want to replace them. Otherwise, Wayne seemed quite happy with the overall workmanship. Next inspection will be the fuselage pre-cover. Thanks Wayne!
