Today I received the wing kit from Vans. It is shipped in two crates, one large and wide containing the skins, wing tips, ribs etc and the second is long and narrow (15' feet) which contains the wing spars, control tubes, and fuselage longerons.
Neither can be unloaded by one person. There was some damage to the outside of the larger crate but it still provided good protection for it's contents were left undamaged.
Shipping costs from Oregon to St. John's, NL was only $737.00 CAD in addition to the HST which was $836.00 CAD for a grand total of $7495.00 CAD. (No duty).
I opened the crates and unwrapped every item checking for damage. The factory does an excellent job packing this kit.
