Brief Description:  Continued with Horizontal Stabilizer.

Back from a 7 week work tour in Southern Thailand I picked up where I left off. It took a while to get back into the swing of things as I could not quite remember what was done. I opened up some new tools I received while I was away. An alligator type pneumatic rivet squeezer, a pneumatic cleco tool, some more cleckos, a four inch thin nosed, no hole yoke for my main squeeze and a better drill punch.I did some reorganizing in the shop and took pictures of the contents of my main tool box. I pasted the pictures on the fron of the drawers so I can quickly identify the correct drawer.Refering to this log and the manual I got to work by clecoing the skin onto the left hand side for rigidity and then the right hand skin. I clamped and drilled HS-404 and HS-405 using the skin as a guide.I made my first serious error. I have no explaination for it, I drilled from the front of HS-810-1 through an existing hole and it turned out to be in the wrong position on the back side. I have no idea why there was a hole in the front of HS-810-1 in the first place. I obviously should have back drilled from HS-405 into HS-810-1. My three options now are; 1 rivet as is and accept the poor edge distance, two back drill through HS-405 and leave the bad hole alone, and three order a some new parts from Vans and do it properly.I will email pics to Vans and get their opinion on it and make a decision based on Vans advise.I have to buy a 90 degree angle drill to do these holes as my 12" No. 30 drill bit is too long and my regular No. 30 bit is too short. Oh well whats another $145 USD?
