Brief Description: Tailspring mount installed on aft bulkheads.
I worked on the tailspring mount. I began by transferring the full size template from DWG 73 to some light cardstock and marked out the required pattern. I drilled a hole at the forward end and roughed out the cut with my band saw. Then smoothed and deburred the area. I trial fit the WD-409 mount and realized I needed a couple of thin shims (as suggested in the plans) to get the fit just right. I clamped and drilled the mount in place between the two aft bulkheads and checked for good alignment. I checked the clearance between the mount and the F-828 skin and had to enlarge the opening for proper clearance. I took some time today to clean up the shop before I called it quits.
