Brief Description:  Back riveted left tank stiffeners.

I used MEK to clean every surface that will have sealant applied and soaked the required rivets in jar of MEK to remove any oils or contaminants. Then I gathered all the items I would need for this next step and organized them within arms reach. I taped off the areas I did not want tank sealant on then got to work mixing my first tube of Flame Master. I am using the 'Semkits' which is dispensed in a manual gun. It was hard work getting it properly mixed and took about 5 minutes or so to get the required 50 strokes. I applied about 1/16" of sealant to the back of each stiffener and back riveted them in place. Then I applied a fillet around the edge of each and placed a dab on each and every shop head. I used Popsicle sticks to smooth things out. I recommend the Semkits, even though they are more expensive, it seems to me it would be much neater than applying this sticky stuff with a stick. (You don't get those messy strings all over the place with the gun that you do with Popsicle sticks.) I ordered the sealant from the Aviall just a few hangers down from work. They even gave me the CHC Global discount!
