I installed a ‘Mike Zellers’ canopy latch to resolve an issue with the RV8 canopy which slides to its most aft position when open requiring the solo pilot to get up out of the seat to reach it for closing. It took some fiddling with washer combinations to get the cam arm to rotate freely, but in the end the system works nicely. I used AN470-4-12 rivets to secure the stationary latch in place.
