Sean and I spent a full day trimming the canopy. We used the Van’s supplied cutting disc turning in a die grinder. The best tip I found from the forums was to leave the horizontal flange attached along both sides as long as possible. This gave the whole canopy some rigidity and made cutting and positioning it easier. Another good tip was to remove material primarily from the front end first and leave the sides and back end alone. After several cuts off the front we removed a portion of the aft end which let it sit down on the aft end of the canopy frame. We transferred the curve of the front top cowl onto the front part of the canopy again and made several more cuts there bringing the whole canopy down and closer to the top of the roll bar, which is the objective. We will do more trimming in a couple of days when Sean can get back to help.
