I worked on installing the Dynon remote compass in the tail section today. I have already fabricated a shelf support at the rear of the fuselage away from any magnetic interference. The remote compass needs to be installed within 1 degree of pitch of the D-100 EFIS unit (which is installed in the main instrument panel). I used my digital level to determine the compass needs to be tilted forward by 6 degrees to accomplish this. I fabricated some shims out of Delrin which should do the trick. I need to use the shear at work to cut a base out of thicker aluminum than what I used for the first attempt. More on this in a future build log.
