Brief Description:  Infinity control stick grip installation.

I marked where to cut the front control stick and got to work with the band saw. I installed the grip and rotated it to feel comfortable to my hand. This worked out to about 25° counter clockwise (I’m right handed). Then I drilled the 7/16" boss holes and a slot as indicated in the Infinity instructions. I didn't make the slot nearly as long or wide as suggested and it worked out fine. I drilled another 7/16" hole near the pivot bushing on the front of the stick for the wire cable to exit and pushed a rubber grommet into it. I touched up the edges of the holes and slot with power coat paint and proceeded to stuff all the wires and switches in position into the grip. I just couldn’t seem to get it to close up properly. I assumed I was pinching a wire somewhere but it finally dawned on me that the thickness of the power coating was preventing the grip halves to join tightly. I removed the power coating with a bench mounted sanding belt, cleaned it up with lacquer thinner and applied a very thin layer of SW988 self etching primer. Then things finally fit together and I turned the Allen screws in position then installed the assembly into the cockpit. I check the clearance from the top of the grip to the bottom of the instrument panel and ended up with about 1/2" clearance, about what I was shooting for.
