I finally finished the battery access door project. I riveted the parts together and made a slight adjustment to the latch to striker plate interface to make everything work just right. This little project took me a total of 21.7 hours which is kind of ridiculous. Keep in mind this is a modification which is not found in the plans or instructions so understandably it would take some extra time to design and fabricate. Overall I'm happy with the end result, but if I had to do it again I would install the hinge at the aft side of the door instead of the front.
