Brief Description:  VS

Back riveted the lower rivets on the VS rear spar and spar doubler, the ones that are countersunk. Also put in the 470s located below the bottom spar. My first concern was that the doubler pull up tight to the spar, which Gus at Vans said it would, and it did in fact. See image 2. My second problem was the rivets next to the bend in the hinge brackets. There wasn't enough room to get the backrivet set on the rivet because of the proximity of the rivet to the vertical portion of the bracket. I used the rivet gun and bucking bar on those rivets, and that worked quite well. See image 1. For anyone wanting to use NAPA 7220 primer, you can see from the worn spots around the rivets in image 1 (from the backrivet set) that the primer won't stand up to a whole lot of punishment. Image 3 is a shot of most of the rivets set in this session.
