Brief Description:  VS

I thought I was ready to clean and prime the VS parts, but I remembered that I hadn't dimpled or countersunk the VS spars. I used the pneumatic squeezer with the longeron yoke mounted in the vise to dimple the spars. I had a couple of misfires with the squeezer resulting in a couple holes where none are called for ( see images 1 & 2). These were caused by the close quarters at the narrow end of the spars. Lesson learned! Next time, if the 3" yoke doesn't have clearance either, I'll use the Avery hand dimpler. I also used the drill press for the first time as a c-sink machine. I think the c-sinks are better with the drill press, but the process is more involved and takes longer than using the drill motor. It is also harder to clean the shavings out of the bit. My feeling is that using the drill press results in more uniform c-sinks.
