Brief Description: Install bottom ft skin, final position of firewall
Mounted the firewall to the longerons. I did have to cut about a 1/4 in. off of each longeron. It took a while to get the longeron to fit nicely in the angle of the firewall mounts. If you just clamp the longeron, it will not be nested into the corner. I had to clamp on one side, then clamp to the other side, loosen the first clamp and twist the longeron. Then begin the process all over again. By stepping the longeron around the steel angle I was able to get a really nice nest between the two parts. Then I moved to the other side of the fuselage and started all over. When I was all done I installed the front bottom skin. With everything clamped together I put the level against the firewall and was surprised to get 90.0 degrees. The plans didn't indicate if the firewall is suppose to be perpendicular to the floor but since it came out this exact I think this is correct. Ready for the final drill!!
