Disassemble all the baggage panels and floor. Fabricate baggage tie-down reinforcements and mount to panels. I decided that Vans suggestion for the location of tie-downs seemed too high in the baggage compartment. Rings located halfway up the compartment would be great if the compartment was full of "stuff". I don't plan on hauling that much around all the time. I placed the rings about 6 inches avove the floor at the rear of the baggage area and mounted them to the side panels. This would allow the rear panel to be removed without disturbing the rings and if necessary the side panels could be removed for access to the back side. The front rings I placed above the flap control bar about 4 inches above the floor, also in the side panels. I will be able to bungee crisscross the floor and have enough tension on a couple of bags to keep them from going airborne in turbulence.
