Mounted the verticle stab to the sawhorses. Assembled the rudder to the VS. It was exciting to see the first pieces come together. I didn't think the Heim joints were correct when I installed them. I had a hard time measuring the required distance properly. So when I went to fit the rudder I was suprised that the hinges matched up as well as they did. I had to adjust the middle hinge 1/2 turn out to make them all where the bolts would slide in without any wiggling or forcing the rudder one way or the other. Sweet!! It moves so smooth. I don't know how it should look against the vertical stab, but if I move the rudder all the way to where it touches the skin of the vertical it evenly meets the skin from top to bottom. There is no angularity between the vertical and rudder.
I've had the kit one month. Horizontal stabilizer, vertical stabilizer, and rudder completed! Elevators are next. Wings are to be shipped the middle of Feb.
