Brief Description:  Dimple skin and countersink spars

Dimpled right Horizontal Stablizer skin. Countersunk right spars front and rear. Countersunk spar doublers.

I spent a lot more time in the shop than the log reflects today. Learning time was real high today. Dimpled my first panel, it was easier than I thought it would be once I got everything together to do it. The first couple of holes went very slow then as I got more confortable the speed improved.

Next up on my learing curve was countersinking the holes on the spar edges. I have never used one of these tools before. I experimented with some scrap to get the depth set correctly, now that is done I should not have to change or adjust it much. I originally purchased two countersinks so I was able to set one up for 3/32" and one for 1/8". This should cut down the adjustment time later.

I countersunk the holes in the spar doublers. It continues to amaze me how much detail is on the blueprints. The trick is to inspect the plans, mark which holes need the countersink, inspect the plans again, read the instructions, inspect the plans again, understand what it all means, and inspect the plans again. After that countersink the holes.
